CDA chief orders extension of sanitation services to new sectors

ISLAMABAD: The chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Maroof Afzal, has directed extension of the sanitation services to the newly-established sectors of D-12, G-13 and G-14.

The direction was issued by the CDA chief to Member Engineering and Environment Sanaullah Aman on the demand of the residents of these sectors.

He directed the engineering and environment chief to make necessary arrangements for the collection and disposal of garbage from these sectors along with provision of other sanitation facilities to the residents.

Following the directions, Mr Aman instructed the formations concerned to finalise the arrangements to ensure cleanliness in these areas on a daily basis.

He said on the request of the residents, the chairman had directed regular sanitation services to the new sectors.

The CDA chairman also directed the officials concerned to launch a special anti-litter drive in the city from February 13.

The cleanliness campaign will start from sectors ‘I’ series in the first phase.

To make this campaign a success, the authority will ensure participation and cooperation of the citizens, traders, civil society, students and people from other walks of life.

Mr Aman said instructions had also been issued to officials concerned to immediately repair 34 toilets in all the public places.
