An area of approximately 2,000 kanal has been handed over to the Housing Foundation through the Islamabad administration and finally development work has been initiated.
On the request of the allottees, the progress of development work in Sector G-14 was reviewed at a meeting chaired by ICT Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed. Representatives of allotees, Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF), National Construction Limited attended the meeting.
The representatives of National Construction Limited informed that Rs50 million development work has been completed while further development is underway at the site. The deputy commissioner asked the officials of FGEHF that a transparent mechanism for smooth clearance of bills vis-à-vis the actual development work on ground may be evolved and that the payment procedure should be transparent. He further directed to expedite the ongoing work on ground.
The representatives of allottees also shared their concerns regarding the progress of work, upon which the FGEHF was directed to enforce a strict monitoring mechanism in line with project schedule. The foundation was advised to the progress of development work on daily basis and hold bimonthly meeting with allottees. The allottees requested that although now the matter was between the construction company and the Housing Foundation however, the Islamabad administration may remain involved in the monitoring process to which the deputy commissioner agreed and appointed district collector as focal person.
National Construction Limited told the participants that development work at the site is in progress in a smooth manner and they were not facing any resistance from the locals. DC Islamabad further directed FGEHF and National Construction to intimate police in writing about any security problem on-site and register cases against those who may create any hurdles. Now that the site has been handed over to the National Construction for development it is expected that the Housing Foundation shall pursue the matter effectively with their contractor for timely completion of work.
National Construction was advised to install their private guards as well for the protection of their materials and machinery. It was also decided that next meeting will be held at the office of DG FGEHF to review the progress of work on January 15.
The concerned agencies informed that the survey of remaining built up property (BuP) shall require 3 months. The DC Islamabad took serious note of this and said that this has to be completed within one month. He required the FEGHF to take up the matter with Pak PWD and dedicate upto 10 teams for this purpose. He also directed the FGEHF, LAC and the revenue staff to complete the survey work of built up property in Jhangi Sayedan and Chello villages in co-ordination with PWD teams within a month. The allottees expressed their satisfaction and appreciated the efforts of the administration and Housing Foundation in this regard.
