Clash between CDA, affectees

Islamabad—Construction work on roads in Sector I-11/2 has been stopped due another clash between the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the affectees.

According to sources, the contract of construction of roads in Sector I-11/1 and 2 was awarded in October 2011 and the work was to be completed in one and a half years, but only 13 percent work instead of 66 percent is done even after the lapse of one year.

The CDA started the work many times but the affectees halted the work each time, delaying the construction of roads in the sector. The CDA might face financial losses as it has to pay escalation money to the contractor in case of delay in the project.—INP
