LDA seals 15 properties

LAHORE – The staff of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Commercialisation Directorate sealed 15 properties on account of non-payment of fee on Thursday. The sealed properties in Gulberg Scheme included: 48-Main Wise College, 14-E/2 security office, 11-A FCC Beacon House School, 18-E/2 guest house, 18-C E/2 guest house, 18-D E/2 guest house, 42-A E/1 design office, 29-C/2 office, 43-B/1 Block G office, 84-B/1 home furniture shop, 42-B/2 home furniture shop, 48-C/2 book shop office, 43-C/2 Block G office, 43-B/1 Block G office and 43-B/2 Block office. LDA not authorised to levy commercialisation fee

LAHORE – MIAN DAWOOD – The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) cannot collect any conversion or commercialisation fee on the buildings falling in the Commercial Zone of Master Plan for Greater Lahore approved and revised by the District Council in 2004.

The LDA also cannot collect the same on the buildings or properties that are made part of the Commercial Zone by the competent authority. Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan has declared the collection of the same unlawful while announcing a judgment reserved on a petition moved by Omar Iqbal and two others challenging a demand notice issued by the LDA seeking to deposit Rs880,744 as commercialisation fee against his property situated on Jail Road.

After the judgment of the LHC, the LDA cannot even seal any property or building in the commercial zone over non-payment of the commercialisation fee. The LDA failed justify the collection of the fee on a court query: “If once the immovable property is made the part of Commercial Zone by the competent authority even then the regulatory authority can claim commercialisation fee / charges treating it residential.”

According the instant judgment, approved plan is the Master Plan of Greater Lahore, and the LDA has not prepared and got approved any master plan of the City from the competent authority so far. And the bare reading of the Rule 2009 shows that the LDA can charge fee for the use of land of building if the owner is usng the land in violation of the basic status of the land as provided in Master Plan. Transfers, postings in LDA

LAHORE – Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Ahad Khan Cheema has transferred Aftab Majeed, Deputy Director Accounts-II, Directorate of Finance, LDA and posted him as Director (Admn & Finance), TEPA, LDA in his own pay and scale.

Kashif Imran, Assistant Director (Accounts)  working as Assistant Director (Bills), Administration Directorate, LDA has been transferred and posted as Deputy Director Accounts-II, LDA in his own pay and scale, vice Aftab Majeed.  He will also hold the additional charge of the post of Assistant Director (Bills), Administration Directorate, LDA.

Muhammad Rasheed, Deputy Director Law, working in the office of the Additional Director General (HQ), LDA has been entrusted with the additional charge of post of Deputy Director Law (Supreme Court) in Directorate of Law, LDA. Sibtain Raza Qureshi, Assistant Director Law presently working with Legal Advisor, LDA has been transferred and posted as Assistant Director Law in Directorate of Law, LDA with immediate effect.

Tahir Iqbal, Secondary School Teacher presently posted as Principal LDA Model Higher Secondary School, Sabzazar, Lahore has been transferred and posted as Principal LDA Model Higher Secondary School, Johar Town, Lahore with immediate effect.  Muhammad Ashfaq Malik, Secondary School Teacher presently posted as Assistant Director (C&I), LDA has been transferred and posted as Principal LDA Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Sabzazar, with immediate effect vice Tahir Iqbal. Road project

KARACHI, Nov 1: The KMC administrator has said that the under-construction Shahrah-i-Quaideen will be completed this month.

During a visit to the site, Mohammed Hussain Syed said that drain walls in the middle of the road would be repaired to improve traffic flow on the road. He was earlier informed that carpeting work from Khudadad Colony to the Noorani traffic intersection had been completed and the carpeting work from the Noorani intersection to Allah Wali Chowrangi was near completion.—PPI Continue reading
