Over 70 CDA officials reshuffled

ISLAMABAD, Oct 22: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday reshuffled over 70 officials to ensure better governance in a number of its directorates.

In a late night development, Ghulam Sarwar Sandhu was removed from the post of director general planning wing and directed to report to the human resource department for further posting. Mr Sandhu headed the wing for over two years.

Habibur Rehman Khan, the director general (law) of the legal wing, was demoted to the position of deputy director general.
One official in the civic agency attributed the move against Mr Khan to the department’s failure in pursuing on merit a number of court cases, mainly against encroachers and the land mafia.

Rawal Khan Maitla was given the charge of the director general law.

Mr Maitla was working as the director general of the civic management unit, which will now be headed by Fawad Anwar Khan.

The secretary of the CDA board, Nadeem Akbar Malik, was also removed from the post.

Others who were transferred included officials in the basic pay scale (BPS) 17 and 18.
