Pervaiz assures Ring Road victims of help


PML-Q leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi has assured the Ring Road affectees of his support in getting their rights and that their problems and grievances will be resolved as his party was standing shoulder to shoulder with them.

He stated this after a delegation of Ring Road affectees under the leadership of Ex-MNA Mian Munir Ahmad called on him at his residence here on Thursday. Apprising Pervaiz of their problems, the delegation members said that the ‘Khadam-e-Aala’ had promised them that they would be paid according to the market rate and shops and houses constructed 40 to 50 feet away from the road would not be demolished and instead they would be provided relief. They said that contrary to his promise, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif demolished 1,000 shops and 150 houses as a result of which about 500 families had been rendered unemployed. Traders representative Saeed Qadir Shaikh told Pervaiz Elahi that they had met the commissioner, DCO and the chief secretary but none of them had extended them cooperation. The delegation demanded the deputy PM that justice should be provided to Anjuman-e-Tajran Multan Road, Yateem Khana, Samanabad, Bhallah Stop, Chhappar Stop, Chauburji Quarters and the Scheme Morr residents.
