Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Wednesday issued notices to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) seeking detailed report regarding the allotments of makeshift stalls on the greenbelts of Islamabad.
Nominating the CDA chairman and its member environment, the petitioner Vice Admiral (r) Ahmad Tasnim has adopted before the court that due to the negligence of the civic body of Islamabad, there has been a mushroom growth of the makeshift stall vendors at the public places of city that has not only been creating hindrance in the public passage but it is also encroaching on the greenbelts.
Petitioner told the court that Islamabad being capital of the country has been the hub of diplomatic community from all around the world.
Such encroachments not only creating a bad image of the country but it is also creating unhygienic conditions for the residents those go for walks to the public parks or greenbelts.
He has prayed to the court to order remove the stalls from the public parks and greenbelts.
