Allottees still await dev work in Sector E-12

Islamabad—The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has failed to get acquisition of the land and initiate development work of Sector E-12, which has been spreading sense of despair among the allottees of plots in the sector.

Some allottees of the sectors had died long ago and the rest of the allottees were still awaiting the possession of their plots after the development of the sector, said a group of allottees. They further told INP that government employees were given plots in the sectors around 30 years ago and majority of the employees had retired but could not get their plots.

The Supreme Court had directed the CDA to take acquisition of the land and start development work in the sector in 2010 but the civic authority has failed in complying with the apex court’s orders.

Similarly, former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, during his speech on a ceremony relating to development of Sector D-12, had urged the CDA to develop Sector E-12 on priority basis, the allottees said, adding the civic authority had started many new sectors but did not complete Sector E-12 that was announced long ago.

It is relevant to mention here that Sector E-12 residential unit was launched in 1970s to provide around 5,000 housing units to the citizens. Soon the land acquisition began and sale of plots was announced in 1984.—INPSource: http://pakobserver.net/detailnews.asp?id=178102
