Old buildings to be renovated

LAHORE – District Coordination Officer Noor-ul-Amin Mengal said on Sunday that the old and historical buildings located on The Mall would be renovated and preserved without changing their structure.

Paying visit to historical buildings on The Mall, the DCO said that the original identity and beauty of Lahore was due to the old and historical structures located in different areas.

“In the first phase, four buildings – Ghulam Rasool Building, Lakshmi Mansion Building, Shah Din Building and Baba Dinga Singh Building – located on The Mall will be repaired and renovated,” said the DCO, adding that billboards of same colours and sizes will be displayed on all shops of The Mall after formulation of a policy in this regard,” he added.Source: http://www.nation.com.pk/pakistan-news-newspaper-daily-english-online/lahore/08-Oct-2012/-old-buildings-to-be-renovated
