CDA chairman reverses decision of previous management

The new chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday reversed a decision of the previous management by calling back two officials to the hierarchy of the civic body.

Muhammad Aslam Chau-dhry and Faisal Saeed Cheema of the Audit and Accounts Group were repatriated by the former CDA chairman, Farkhand Iqbal.

According to sources, Aslam Chaudhry as director estate management (commercial) developed differences with the former CDA chairman over the issue of the planned controversial auction of 12 commercial plots in Blue Area. The auction was halted by Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf after watching a report on ‘Geo News’ last month.

Sources in the CDA said that Aslam Chaudhry had written a note against pre-qualification, which was being followed by the former chairman for auction of plots.

Faisal Cheema was holding the charge of the deputy financial adviser when he was repatriated about three weeks back.

It is expected that the new management would take some more important decisions soon by repatriating some officials back to their departments. “The officials are not only facing charges of corruption but they are also hindering the smooth and transparent working of the CDA,” an official said.

At present, the strength of officers on deputation has crossed the quota for outsiders, which also hinders promotions of CDA’s own officials.Source:
