Islamabad—Adviser to Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Sadia Danish has appreciated that a new era of development would start for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan after Prime Minister Raja Parvaz Ashraf’ s recent visit to them. Talking to Radio Pakistan, she said during his visit to GB the PM inaugurated mega projects. She added that Prime Minister also issued order to increase PIA flights and release of Rs. 2 billon funds for GB. She said that PPP is giving special attention to the people of GB. She claimed that no other government except PPP has given such importance to the people of GB. She thanked President Asif Ali Zardari for granting autonomy to the people of GB, as the step has given identity to the people of GB. She added that people of GB are enjoying all rights and privileges like people of other parts of the country.
She expressed the hope that PPP government will empower and give more rights to the people of GB. She said that GB government has established law and order to curb sectarian violence in Gilgit-Baltistan. Earlier, talking to media, she said the government has allocated Rs 11, 32,0000 grant for the uplift and development of tourism in the region. She said that massive tourists from country and foreign were visiting GB to observe the beauty of nature. “We have talked with several companies for the promotion of tourism,” Sadia added. To a question, she stated the success of RAMA Festival was a big achievement of tourism department, adding the department would organize these types of events in future also.
