Islamabad: The twinkling stars emerging from colourful display of fireworks glitter the charged faces of a large number of the people including a big majority of youth witnessing the show while raising foreheads towards sparking lights in the sky at F-9 Fatima Jinnah Park late Monday night.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ch. Qamar Zaman Kaira and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Engineer Farkhand Iqbal were the chief guest of the event celebrated with a message of new era of development of the capital in particular and the country as a whole. Speaking on the occasion the CDA chairman said that CDA made comprehensive arrangements for celebrating the Independence Day in the federal capital and participation of the people from different walks of life and different areas has enhanced the enthusiasm and dedication towards the national development and prosperity.
The colourful event in the Fatima Jinnah F-9 Park, with display of the fireworks, has been participated by the thousands of people from the Islamabad and other areas of the country, which speaks for the national unity. The CDA chairman appreciated the efforts of the officers and workers of the authority for organising such a wonderful show.
He said that all the major buildings have been illuminated and the roads and routs have been decorated with banners, streamers and other material reflecting the national integrity and jubilation.
He said that the celebration of the August 14 as Independence Day call for a commitment to work with more dedication and passion for making Pakistan a modern welfare state. He said that the management have initiated a new era of development in CDA for making Islamabad a modern metropolitan of the world. He said that issues neglected in the past are being addressed on priority which includes provision of decent public transport facility, development of the stalled sectors, availability of the additional water resources, construction of new roads infrastructure and avenues as well as upgradation and better upkeep of the city.
