CDA committed to making Islamabad ‘green city’

ISLAMABAD: CDA Chairman Farkhand Iqbal said on Friday that CDA is taking solid steps to make Islamabad a “green city” and media should educate people about plantation so that a healthy environment could be provided to residents of the city.

“About 500,000 saplings are being planted during the ongoing monsoon season,” he said after planting a sapling in Media Town.

During this plantation drive, Iqbal added, CDA is focusing on planting local plants. The CDA chairman said the authority would provide technical support for the development of Media Town. Responding to the demand of providing residential facilities to journalists, Iqbal assured that CDA would chalk out a comprehensive plan so that people associated to the media might be provided with quality living facilities.Source:\08\11\story_11-8-2012_pg11_6
