Land doled out by CDA to Bahria Enclave

Islamabad—Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Division Friday expressed concern over the allocation of huge stretch of land by the Capital Development Authority to facilitate Bahria Enclave for construction of its approach road.

The committee met here under the chairmanship of Senator Kalsoom Parveen and directed CDA to present a report as under which terms and condition the road has been allotted to Bahira Enclave.

The committee noted that around 600 kanals of lands has been doled out to Bahira Town free of cost.

The Senate body directed the Federal Investigation Agency to submit investigation report about Kuri Model Village scam within three weeks containing what action has been taken and how it happened.

Discussing an agenda item on inordinate delay in development of Interior Employees Cooperative Housing Society, the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad informed that ban has been imposed on the registration of new housing schemes.

The committee also discussed in detail the sale of 2700 fake plots by the Society management. The committee directed the concerned authority to investigate why delay has been made in the development of the society.

The committee also directed the DC Islamabad to present the list of people who got themselves registered with the society in 1984.
It also directed the DC to present report that how many people have handed over possession of plots in the society so far.

The meeting was also attended by Senator Syeda Sughra Imam, Baz Muhammad Khan, Kamil Ali Agha and Begum Najma Hameed.
