LAHORE, June 11: A team of the Lahore Development Authority demolished on Monday the entry gates of four housing schemes illegally developed along Ferozepur Road by various developers.

The team led by LDA Metropolitan Planning Wing senior officials also sealed offices of these unapproved colonies during an operation.

The colonies where the LDA officials took action included Gulberg Park Housing Scheme (Suai Aasal Road), Green Cap Housing Scheme (Kahna Nau), Roshan Town (Kahna) and Vital Homes Housing Scheme (near Kahna).

Officials said the action was taken in the light of a recent LDA survey in which over 50 housing schemes were pointed out as developed without approval of the authorities concerned. They advised the public at large not to purchase any residential or commercial plot in the aforementioned schemes. Besides LDA, the City District Government of Lahore has also notified 50 illegal housing schemes situated within its revenue limits.
