LAHORE – On the directives of the Punjab Chief Minister, Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) was being executed at a cost of Rs. 21 billion in the city for providing world- class transport facilities to the people of Lahore.
The 30 kilometers long project, extending from Gajumatta at Ferozepur Road to Shahdara, has been divided into eight packages where civil work was being executed simultaneously. The 7.5 kilometers long package of project from Kalima Chowk to Bhatti Gate will be constructed as an elevated express way which would be eight meters high from the ground level.This was informed during a meeting of a four member delegation of Turkish Consultant Firm ULASIM Istanbul, which called on the Director General Lahore Development Authority Ahad Khan Cheema on Tuesday. Chief Engineer TEPA Saeed Akhter and Project Director Mazhar Hussain Asif briefed the delegation about the ongoing progress on this project.
