Two LDA directors among eight suspended

LAHORE, May 31: Lahore Development Authority Director General Ahad Khan Cheema suspended on Thursday eight officials, including two directors, from service on charges of corruption, negligence and poor performance.

The DG placed the services of Director (Revenue) Haroonur Rashid under suspension on account of his alleged negligence and weak supervision over functioning of LDA’s revenue directorate, resulting in issuance of bogus challans for the transfer of plot No 223 (Block-F/1 at Johar Town) despite the fact that the plot/property file was already missing in the record.The services of Shakeel Anjum Minhas, Deputy Director (Town Planning Wing), presently working as Director (LDA Metropolitan Planning-II) and Muhammad Nafees, Assistant Director (Town Planning), have also been placed under suspension with immediate effect on account of their alleged negligence, which resulted into illegal constructions in a private residential scheme, ‘New Lahore City’.

Both senior officials have also been asked to mark their attendance in the Administration Directorate of the LDA in future.

Mian Muhammad Ashfaq, Assistant Director (computer cadre), Sajeel Arif (computer officer), Bilal Rahat, (data entry operator), Akhtar Mumtaz and Naseem Abbas (junior clerks) have also been suspended for their alleged involvement in transferring plots No 181 and 196 at Block-F/1, Johar Town. The entry of these officer/officials in the LDA office (Johar Town) has also been banned till finalisation of inquiry proceedings.

TRANSFER: LDA DG Ahad Khan Cheema has transferred Farqaleet Meer, Director (Hidden Properties), and posted him as director (revenue) with immediate effect.

He will also hold the additional charge of the post of director (hidden properties).
