Ashiana Housing Scheme Quaid Extension Balloting-Draw in Lahore on 22-2-2012 by Shahbaz Sharif :

Lahore (February 22, 2012) – CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, While addressing at a ceremony for the Ashiana Housing Scheme Extension balloting has said that unscrupulous people looted national assets in the form of loans worth billions of rupees and then got them written off on political grounds.

On the occasion, 825 lucky persons were allotted houses by balloting in Ashiana Quaid Extension Atari Ferozepur Road Lahore.

Railways in land retrieval talks with defence forces

LAHORE – While the Pakistan Railwaysis continuing its efforts to retrieve illegally occupied land, an official disclosed here on Wednesday that talks have been initiated with government departments and the defence forces to vacate entire PR land under their control.

It is worth mentioning here that 4583.474 acres of Pakistan Railways’ land is currently under illegal occupation. Of this, 447.304 acres have been captured by government departments and another 1568.118 by the defence forces. In the latest part of its anti-encroachment drive, the PR officials have retrieved approximately 24 acres of land since February 1. The campaign against land mafia is being conducted by the Railways’ Directorate of Property and Land in its 8 divisions. It was started following directives by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. CDG, LDA held responsible for factory collapse

LAHORE – An inquiry committee, formed by Mian Shahbaz Sharif on the factory collapse incident, submitted its report to the CM, declaring the City District Government and Lahore Development Authority responsible for the incident.

The members of inquiry committee Maj. ® Mubashar Ullah and Najam Saeed submitted their findings to the CM after completing the investigations. The report revealed that the construction of this medicine factory was illegal. Sources in the Punjab government said in this regard that the incident occurred due to negligence of the CDGL and LDA officials, who failed to notice the unlawful construction of a factory in residential area. The committee reported that timely action could have prevented the losses of life and property if the concerned authorities had taken legal action against the owners of the factory. It further reported that the house belonging to Rana Amjad, adjacent to the factory, was completely destroyed as result of collapse of factory building. Continue reading

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman, Engr Farkhand Iqbal said on Monday that in order to make Islamabad a model city, the local businessmen would be taken on board for every strategy and plan for development of the capital.

“No city could develop without contribution of entrepreneurs and CDA would address all problems of businessmen so that they could promote local economy smoothly,” the CDA chairman said while addressing business community at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) on Monday.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Islamabad Task Force Chairman Faisal Sakhi Butt in a recent meeting directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to submit a workable solution and a time frame for the development of Sector I-15 to overcome shortage of housing units in the federal capital.

The development of I-15 sector, which includes five to six Marla plot apartments, was announced in 2005 and also includes construction of 8,000 flats for low-income groups.
